Easily Overlooked Ways to Earn Darkfall Online Gold
Grinding mobs can give you guaranteed Darkfall Online gold, but do not forget to consider these other methods that will help you accumulate that
all-important spending currency.
Find treasure chests
You will find random treasure chests scattered across the Darkfall Online world. Try to explore every nook and cranny of a new area or city you visit,
and you will eventually find these loot-giving chests (with the help of your trusty treasure map, of course). They will you nice chunks of gold as
well as valuable items such as ingots, weapons, and rare materials.
The great thing about treasure chests is that they refresh after some time, so you can stumble upon them from time to time. This will add up to nicely
to your gold totals without having to break a sweat in combat. A few players might argue that the gold in these chests are not worth the search, but
if you were already hunting them down for a chance to score a rare enchant, then the bonus gold just makes it all the more sweeter.
Hunt down humanoids
If you are going to farm mobs, then you may want to focus on humanoids since they are known to drop raw gold. It is very easy to check for humanoid
mob spawns, but if you are having difficulty finding a lucrative humanoid farming spot, then you can use YOURMOM’s Darkfall map
to locate one that suits your level and grinding groove.
Look for salvaging opportunities
The salvaging skill is a fairly new feature in Darkfall Online, which allows you to break crafted and broken items into raw materials, which can then
be re-used for additional crafting or to be sold for gold.
You may be used to just selling everything you loot the vendors, but you should look at whether salvaging the same items for a higher gold haul.
Of course to do an accurate comparison, you will need to be familiar with the current prices for the materials you will sell after the salvage
operation then subtract the gold cost for the operation. If this results in a higher gold total than outright selling the item to the vendor, then you
salvage the item.
Remember though that salvaging has an element of randomness to it. Before salvaging, the user interface will show the maximum resources that can be
salvaged from the item, and not the guaranteed resources. It helps to be more pessimistic with your computations so you do not end up losing gold.
A great way to increase your gold haul from salvaging is to raise your salvaging skill level. This increases your probability of getting the most
resources out of each salvaging operation, resulting in greater gold profit. Leveling up the skill takes quite a lot of time though so consider
whether you have the patience and time to invest in this gold-making route. If not, you may be better simply farming mobs the normal way and salvaging
on a case-per-case basis.
