Website Lets You Track MapleStory Mesos Spending and Earning

MapleStory fan site Basilmarket.com has introduced a new item trade tracking feature that lets you record the items you bought or sold and for how much. When done over time, players can get a clearer picture of how much MapleStory Mesos goes in or out of their wallet via item trading. In the future the data logged by users might even be used to create a live price list for the benefit of the community.

Personal log
The new tracking feature was designed with convenience in mind. Players can quickly add item trade entries including details like the type of transaction (buying or selling) and for how much MapleStory Mesos. The system then generates a daily list of the items bought and sold.

"The focus is on ease of use and being able to quickly add entries," explained admin poster mrbasil, also adding that there are convenient edit and delete options should you make a mistake with the recorded entries.

Item tracking
mrbasil also explained that the new tracking feature can be used for other means. Market players can use it to scout out prices trends on a specific item that will give them a gauge on how much to buy or sell that item in the future.

"Technically speaking the items you add don't even have to be yours," said mrbasil. "If you're just looking for a place to log what others are selling in free market (to track prices over time or to make a note of someone selling an item you're after) this is a great way to do it."

Future upgrades
mrbasil plans to introduce future upgrades that will expand the feature's utility to the broader community.

"I have some ideas on making it more useful (ie, tabulating earnings so you can see your earnings/losses in various time frames) but will use the beta phase to see how and if people use it... If this proves to be popular, I have an idea wherein we could have the data from select (ie, trustworthy) users that volunteer to have their data be public to create a live price list," he said.

Opportunistic players though will likely attempt to use the feature to manipulate the free market prices. "The trick will be weeding out people who put in fake data as well as those who are looking to raise prices for their own sales," said mrbasil.

Community reaction has been mostly cautiously welcoming on the new feature. The majority are willing to give the new feature a try while it is still in beta to see if it does work as planned.

Should the feature develop into a community prices list, users see it as potentially helping out a lot of beginners who have no clue for much MapleStory mesos they should buy or sell their items.

"I support this idea. It will cut down on the amount of price check threads and give the community some valuable information, resulting in less people getting ripped off and a more informed public when buying and selling, knowing what a good deal is and knowing when someone's trying to screw them over," said user xXSyKoXx in the official response thread.
