MySuperSales is one of the very first virtual currency sellers in the market. Started in 1997 with Ultima Online,
Jonathan Yantis, pioneered the RMT industry and led MySuperSales to become the largest and most successful company. The company used to be the primary supplier of Everquest Platinum and dominated the then popular market PlayerAuctions. Starting out as a provider of game currency for EQ alone, it was the first vendor to successfully branch out into other games. With
eBay banning pretty much all currency auctions for the popular MMORPGs it soon became a new heaven for buyers and wholesalers of platinum alike.
Yantis used this market power to establish an immensely successful affiliate program. It soon developed into a primary financing tools for many smaller website operators. However, this was only the first step into the territory of Everquest community sites. The company soon started
acquiring various community sites in EQ such as class specific communities Monkly-Business.com, EQBeastlord.com and EQDruids.com; server specific communities, Luclin.com and Prexus.com; and half a dozen websites. The biggest news with EQ was Interealms.com, the largest forum community which Yantis already paid $50,000 for the website but turned down by the owner in the end. At that time the only viable competitor was
IGE whose income was only half of MySuperSales.
MySuperSales was
acquired by IGE U.S. LLC in January 2004. Jonathan Yantis became the biggest shareholder in IGE and joined the board of managers of IGE and became the Chief Operating Officer of the company. Eventually, Yantis left the company as IGE could not afford to pay him 1 million a month. Being released from the noncompetition agreement, Yantis found a new competing site,
GamerKing.
As of official records, MySuperSales is owned and operated by IGE which recently has been
sold back to Jonathan Yantis.
According to Alexa`s
MySuperSales traffic record over five years, the graph shows the best business period of the company had was between 2004 to 2006. During the second half of 2006, a huge decline in customers visiting the website took them down the traffic ranking to 365,076. While IGE, also tumbling down the rating ranks still ranks at much higher position,
33,864
MySuperSales has served
65,987 customers according to the Paypal record. Over 2,500 customers have already reviewed the company on Bizrate, giving it a
6.1 overall rating score. However, most of them were not satisfied with the delivery and customer support. Mixed opinions have been reported in the
Mmowned forum.
