PART 1: PURCHASING LOG FOR MOGS.COM REGARDING EVE-ONLINE ISK:
I Just purchased 10 billion ISK for $794 ($79 per 1b) from Mogs.com for eve online about an hour ago. I chatted with them twice before purchasing.
Once last night at 2-3 am, and once today at 2-3 pm. Both times my chat was answered within 3 minutes. I spoke to a different person each time, but
both of them were very knowledgeable about the EVE online universe and the safety/risk in buying ISK online. Both representatives that I spoke to
spoke and understood perfect english. I know now, after speaking with one over the phone, that both of them were regular American Joes with english as
their native language.
Chat convo #1:
My first conversation was basically enquiring about purchasing options. I asked if they accept paypal. I was delighted to find that they do and that
there is no maximum order size for paypal payments. A lot of other sites I checked out wouldn't accept paypal for orders over $500; they only
accepted western union wire transfers. During this same conversation I also asked about availability. Unfortunately, mogs.com at the time was out of
stock. They said they were restocking and that this would take up to 48 hours.
After this conversation, I researched more sites. I found 7 or 8 sites who sold ISK cheaper than mogs.com, all of them seemed to be no name sites with
no history, or semi-big sites with terrible history. Some of the sites I found: guild4power, igsky, susanexpress, mmorpg-shop, themmorpgexchange,
9a9z... All of these websites had online chat options and I tried them all out. For each website chat, one of the following three things happened: No
one answered my chat request, I was answered by a computer, or I spoke to someone who understood very little english.
At this point mogs.com looked very reasonable. I read through the reviews at
http://www.bizrate.com/ratings_guide/cust_reviews__mid--104556.html. Mogs seemed pretty good with 90%+ positive reviews, albiet
none of them for Eve. No other online virtual goods seller has an account at bizrate.com to my knowledge.
I decided to chat with them again.
Chat Convo #2:
My second conversation was about an hour ago and was regarding the safety of buying ISK online for Eve. My chat representative, Dan, was very friendly
and knowledgeable. He told me that CCP tends to crack down on eve-buyers quarterly, and that the last crackdown was done about a week ago so that
buying isk now should be pretty safe. He also assured me that a refund is not out of the question if my order was taken away from by CCP. CCP has a
history of not banning isk buyers, but simply taking away the isk, and leaving the user with a negative balance. If this happened, Dan assured me that
I would be given a full refund. I was quite happy with this, and proceeded with the order. Dan stayed in the chat while I placed the order.
30 minutes after I placed my order, I received a phone call from Dan verifying that I was who I said I was. I gave him my name and address once more
over the phone. Dan obviously was American, he had no foreign accent. English was his first language and he seemed like a regular Joe. Dan also
explained to me the transfer process. He stated that there were 2 orders of 10b ahead of me because of the weekend rush, but he still expects that I
should receive the full 10b within 48 hours. I will not go over how I receive the funds in case of some CCP staff may see this, but basically I will
be receiving the funds in a few increments starting tonight.
I will keep you guys posted.
