The following is an interview with BidnPlay on May 4th, 2007:
How long have you been doing this? Did you start selling casually or has it always been a full time business?
I have launched my site for 2 years now. I have been a seller and straight away created this FX market (not really auction)
What gave you the idea to start this type of business? Did you use to be a gamer, maybe even a buyer or did is there some other story behind your entry into this market?
I launched that market, because the buyer should not pay for the feedback of the sellers. On my site, I am responsible for the feedbacks, the buyer buys a service from sellers (which I have authorised before)... This is why the gold is not very expensive here.
Did you come across any strange customers or business deals? Can you share one of the more weird experiences as a currency seller?
All customers are strange, especially with MMORPG as customers are very young, so unexperienced with real live scenarios.
How about the customers that are not just strange, but really fraudulent – how do you deal with those and is it a big problem?
Players are not fraudalent, because I have caught them before the exchange is done... It is very easy to find a fraud with paypal; I have taught the sellers on my site how to detect those. I have had 100% success so far.
How do you feel about competitors like PlayerAuctions?
No real challenge.... I am used to large businesses, so bidnplay.com is more a hobby than anything else. Playerauctions.com is owned by IGE. They do that for money, I do that for fun.
Are you able to expand on any future plans of your company for this competitive market? Any particular goals or predictions you can share?
I would like to grow, but no time for that... Looking for some partners who have time to drive forward. I ll take care of the technology.
Are you playing MMORPGs yourself? If so, what game do you play and for how much would you sell your main character :) ?
I am not playing any MMORPG.
Thank you very much for taking the time to answer our questions!
