About EQ2 PlatinumEverquest II (EQ2) is a sequel of the successful Everquest, a fantasy massively multiplayer online role-playing game produced by Sony Online Entertainment (SOE). Norrath, the world where EverQuest 2 takes place, is a large virtual world complete with NPCs, people, items, buildings, and a lot more. Those familiar with the literary works of Tolkien and the Grimm Brothers will recognize familiar themes throughout the game. You will find Elves, the Human, Trolls, Ogres, Gnomes, Dwarves Iksars, Halflings and many other fantasy creatures. The game is subscription based requiring players to pay a monthly fee.
Everquest 2 Gold is a common form of currency used to facilitate the buying and selling of items, scrolls, equipment and other in-game objects. Unlike the original Everquest, one hundred EQ2 Gold pieces is equal to a Platinum.
In EQ2 world as in the real world, money can bring special privileges such as access to rare items, high-end armor and weaponry. Although EQ2 Gold has no existence in the real world, people are willing to buy this virtual currency with real money. Gold farming was a serious issue, ruining the in-game economy and spoiling the gamer's experience. Until June 2005, SOE introduced Station Exchange, the official Sony Online Entertainment auction service that provides players a secure method of buying and selling gold, items and characters with real money.
