About AoE Coin
Age of Empires Online developed by Robot Entertainment is based on the original Age of Empires series by Ensemble Studios which was published by Microsoft in 1997. Based on the history of human civilization, the real-time strategy game featured several series leading to the latest version that supports online multiplayer functions, Age of Empires Online. As gamers progress through the game, they are taken through events between the stone age to the classical periods in both Europe and Asia.
Coin is the main game currency and can be attained by two main ways which is from tributes (trading) and by mining for gold and/or silver; rather than looting as seen with most MMORPGs. Regardless of which civilization players choose to play, having ample amount of coin throughout is essential to level up. As for mining coins, there are four different types of deposit to mine from: tin mines, silver mines, copper mines and gold mines. Tin mines have 1,500 units of coin and gold mines have 5000 units of coins. In order to mine coins, player have to talk to a villager (or more like assign a villager character) to mine for them).
The economy and player wealth in Age of Empires Online is different from traditional MMORPGs with the fact that there is no single avatar, hinting the difference in how the system was designed. Players manage several villagers, soldiers and other characters simultaneously. As such, surveying maps efficiently for mines and the ability to multi-task miners essentially leads to more coins faster.

The Easiest Way to Earn Age of Empires Online Coin
Learn why questing is the easiest way to earn Age of Empires Online coin, and what quest becomes the most profitable with enough practice.
Why grind for Coins
Coin is the main currency in Age of Empires Online. But unlike in MMORPGs where it loses value in time, and even eventually becomes obsolete in some games by the time you reach the endgame, Coin stays relevant throughout.
Coin has a high intrinsic value because you can spend it to buy legendary gear, and other rare but expensive items that other players picked up in the game and are now selling in the trade chat.
You will need to work hard though to accumulate enough Coins to power up your civilization. Beginners will do wise to do all the regular quests that pop up pre-level 40. These quests offer decent Coin, often take around 5-10 minutes to complete, and even occasionally drop items that can be sold for additional Gold at the player market.
Do not dilly-dally too long though on the pre-level 40 phase. This is because your Coin income will drastically jump once you hit level 40, which is why you should try to hit the endgame as fast as possible.
Once you hit level 40, your attention will turn to finishing Alliance quests, which are twice-daily repeatable quests given out by alliance leaders. Try to finish all the side objectives before completing the main objective to maximize your Coin, item, treasure chest and Alliance point rewards. Treasure chests can hand out free level 40 gear and advisors.
Repeatable and Elite quests
If you have time for longer gaming sessions, then you can do repeatable quests after your mandatory Alliance quests. Many repeatable quests do not even have a cooldown time, allowing you to chain them on end until you get tired of them. Repeatable quests represent the equivalent of mob farming in MMORPGs, and will earn you decent Coin.
But instead of mindlessly taking on repeatable quests, we advise that you up the challenge with Elite quests. Elite quests are harder versions of repeatable quests, and commensurate to their more difficult challenges, reward higher Coin amounts.
Most profitable quest
According to many veteran gamers, A New Pharaoh's Challenge is the most profitable quest in the game, but you will need to do it fast enough that comes only with extensive practice.
At normal completion rate, A New Pharaoh's Challenge will give out roughly the same Coin reward as a normal Alliance quest. But the faster you complete all the objectives, ideally within 5 minutes, you can receive a couple of thousand Coin plus chests. Veterans call this a solo speed run, and there are many guides and YouTube videos floating around boasting the most efficient way to do it. Look around what suits your playstyle preference, and start padding your Coin wallet.
