News Report: Korea's RMT sites under attack from China and latest news on IGE law suit

Last week, Korea and China were apparently engaging in a Cyber War. Korea's RMT websites such as ItemBay, Item Mania and Item Play Forum were down for most of the time due to some Denial of Service attacks from China, PlayNoEvil had this covered.

Next, we have the latest news update on Antonio Hernandez's attempt to bring a stop to IGE selling virtual gold. We ran into this official website of the case (via Terra Nova) where the progress is being updated. It appears that there are some changes to what we last heard in May. The original complaint was amended by the addition of two more claims. A schedule has been set on this 31st, October for setting pre-trial deadlines after IGE had already asked for an extension.

In regards to the trial, Blizzard had commented on the case back in June and it did not look good for IGE.

"Blizzard Entertainment strongly supports the goals of this lawsuit. We agree that real-money transfer is harmful to the game as a whole and to the experience of all legitimate players. We have explicitly forbidden it in the terms of use for World of Warcraft, and have devoted extensive time and development resources to detecting and preventing these illegal transactions. We believe that shutting down gold farming and real-money transfer is in the interest of all World of Warcraft players and that a victory in this case would have a positive long-term effect on the online gaming industry as a whole."

More should be heard about the trial later.
